According to the Ellis Island manifests, my ancestors stated they came from Slomnivas Austria, yet I cannot find such a town in a gazeteer or atlas. Anyone have any ideas, or alternate spellings suggestions, since I am sure their accent may have caused the Ellis Island worker to spell it like it sounded, which may be very different from how it was actually spelled.
