I have had only moderate success searching for my maternal surname, Messenlehner. Recently, I searched then genteam.com site and found Messenlehners there.

Can anyone suggest a reason for moving to/from Punitz to/from Vienna? I see these two places to be VERY distinctly different.

I apologize for my lack of historical background, wondering if anyone with that knowledge can venture a guess. This surname is listed in both places around 1860.
