Your villages, Ruska Vola nad Popradom and C'irc' are in Slovak Republic and very close to Poland border.
The Slovak J is pronounced like English Y that is why the name change. It is all in pronounciation.
Do post on Slovakia Ancestry.
The Slovak Republic's phone site is at
www.zoznamst.skbut only a female listing Jopkova lists in Divina and Skalite, nothing in the Stara Lubovna or the area around Circ and Ruska Vola. There is a spelling JOBKO with a listing in Circ's phone book.
The LDS-Mormons have filmed the church records of SK so you can order the films and gather ancestral information.
