for location of a town
Your villages, Ruska Vola nad Popradom and C'irc' are in Slovak Republic and very close to Poland border.
The Slovak J is pronounced like English Y that is why the name change. It is all in pronounciation.
Do post on Slovakia Ancestry.
The Slovak Republic's phone site is at www.zoznamst.sk
but only a female listing Jopkova lists in Divina and Skalite, nothing in the Stara Lubovna or the area around Circ and Ruska Vola. There is a spelling JOBKO with a listing in Circ's phone book.
The LDS-Mormons have filmed the church records of SK so you can order the films and gather ancestral information.http://www.bmi.net/jjasohttp://iabsi.com/gen/public/CensusMain.htmwww.slovakfolkcrafts.comwww.iarelative.comhttp://rdsa.tripod.com/cerkwood2.htmlwww.hosmanek.com/slovakwww.our-slovakia.comwww.village.skwww.slovakinstitute.comwww.tccweb.org
The Ellis Island website is listing Janos JOPKO from Hsires (sp?) but looking at the manifest it looks more like Csircs.
Andras Jobko and Gyorgy Jobko also from Csircs.
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910
