I am looking for information on my great-grandparents.

Eli (Ilija) Karakas was born in the Lika Region of Croatia (possibly in Brinje) in September of 1888, and died on 27 June 1918 in Virginia, Minnesota, USA. At the time, Croatia was a part of Austria-Hungary.

His wife Madelyn Sertich (Mandilena Sertić) was born in the same region of Croatia in about 1878, and died in 1952 in Virginia, Minnesota, USA.

Eli/Ilija and Madelyn/Mandilena had four children in Minnesota:

Joseph Benedict Karakas (1910-1967)
Louis Elias Karakas (1912-1962) - my grandfather
Anna M Karakas (1916-1987)
Katherine Madelyn Karakas (1918-2002)

Any geneaological information or leads for their ancestors in Croatia would be greatly appreciated.
