My relations were born in Wyk and I can not find any records for them. I believe they would have been in Sankt Nikolai church. There names were Morris (Moritz in German/Danish?) Petersen and Margaret (German???) Johanson. There son was Moritz Johannes Petersen who ran off and emigrated to avoid the military so I do not think I will find any emigration or immigration records for him. He was known as Charles when he was in Australia.

Where should I look for info? Because Shleswig changed from Denmark to Germany about then I do not even know which country to look at. I thought the church records would be best but aparently they are not available online and it is a long way from Australia to Germany to look for the records.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
