I now have a rough idea of where to focus my research. I have also just heard through the family grapevine that my Great grandfather Peter PAUL worked or lived in Malstatt. That's in Saarbrucken, right?

I don't have any clue as to which religion Eliza(beth) Schauff or Peter Paul followed, in fact I don't know much about anything of them except they both died tragically a few months apart in Australia when my grandmother was 3 yrs old.

Gaby - I don't necessarily want anyone to go out of their way, but, maybe if you're going to the archive in Bruel one day & find that you have nothing else to do, I would truly appreciate it if you could see if her birth was registered.
Oh & a repository is another name for archive or other places where documents are held.
