Hello,
I´m from Eastfrisia and we are looking for a man called Thomas Geiken. He is going to USA about 1900. He stands in a relationsship to my grandfather dont know how? Perhaps a cousin or a greatuncle. He lived somewhere in Iowa

My great, great grandfather Johann Geiken had a brother Thomas. According to my great, great grandfather's obituary his brother Thomas was living in Sibley, Iowa in 1921. This is the only information I have on Thomas. Johann Geiken was born in Brockmahan (spelling), Ost Friesland Germany 3/16/1858. He immigrated to the USA in 1886. There was two additional brothers, Onke and Peter. Johann, Onke & Peter all resided in Illinois

Diane -
I read your previous posts about Thomas and Annie Geiken in Sibley Iowa. I believe that Thomas is somehow connected to Wubke Guiken who married Wiebo Ebeling and they were living in Sibley at that time. What can you tell me about Thomas and did they have a sister Wubke? Do you have info on any of them?

I am looking for related Geikens from Harrison, Boone, Iowa.
Martin Geiken & Hattie Geiken married and had children.
1930 US Federal Census: Vera, Irene, Alan, Norman, Delbert.

I married Norman Geiken's daugther Barbara.

Norman Geiken was married to Bonnie Phillipson, who was thought to have been adopted. Any information on the Phillipson or Geiken family connections would be very helpful.

I Know Geikens are still in the Davenport, Iowa area.

Hi Don,
Unless I have my wires crossed (which has never personally happened to me, of course), I am a cousin to your wife.

The connection goes back to:
Regina Kusler b: 08 JUL 1877
Spouse: Philip Pressler b: 13 Jan 1869

and flows into:

Hertha Regina Pressler b: 16 SEP 1896
Spouse: Rev. Martin Geiken b: 28 JUN 1893

and I think you have a good handle on what has followed.

Let me know if you want to trade notes.

In the meantime, please say Hi! to Barb for me. -JWK-
