My cousins and I are researching the SANDERSFELD family. We know that our great grandfather Cassen Meenken SANDERSFELD b. 8-24-1875, was the only one in his family that came to the United States in the late 1800's. He was the oldest of six children of Meenke CaBen SANDERSFELD b. 12-5-1836, and Gesche Heyen GARRELS b. 6-15-1847. There were twins Heye Meenken and Jann Meenken b. 5-4-1877. They also had a sister Antje Meenken b. 8-27-1887 d. 3-18-1891. We would like very much to know about his long lost family in the Firel, Hesel, and Strackholt areas of Ostfriesland. Thank you everyone for any help you might be able to give us.

Hi Erika! You have e-mailed me before. I didn't know you were related to Cassens though! My gg-grandfather was John Cassens from Dornum, Ostfriesland. I have no idea who his parents or siblings were. Do you know if he is related to your cousin? Thank you!
