Seeking date of the emigration and parents' names of Wilhelm TRAUPE (b. 1831) or Anna LILIENTHAL (b. 1833), who left the area of Gandersheim in Braunschweig to go to North America about 1850-55.
Family lore says they fell in love on the boat and married in the USA. Destination was Evansville, Vanderburgh Co, Indiana. They are my great-grandparents through their daughter, Katharine Amelia Traupe (b. 1873, Evansville).
Sometimes Traupe is seen spelled Traube or even Draupe.
