Looking for information about my greatgradmother Metta Beckmann who married Hermann Offermann about 1870. He came from Bornberg near Hechthausen. I think she may have come from the area north of Bad Bederkesa between Otterndorf and Steinau. All I know is that she drowned near Steinau on her way to a wedding in 1898. They had spent their married life in Bederkesa. I have been through the Hechthausen and Bederkesa churchbooks microfilmed by the Family History center but have not found Metta's birth or their marriage in the records.
