I am researching Buhrs in Nidersachsen. My Buhr connection stated that she was born Dorothea Maria Buhr in the Ellerndorf province. She was born on November 14, 1848. She had a brother named Henry born Aug 2. 1856. Their father's name was William Buhr. Dorothea married Johann H.F. Kruse (born Feb 10. 1847) Their first three children, Elise,(1874) Mary (1876) and George Kruse(1880) were born in Hanstedt, Germany. They emmigrated to America on the Ship Hermann in 1882 and settled in Marshall County, Kansas then on to Caddo County, Oklahoma.
Are these Buhrs familiar?

I am of the family of Maria Buhrs, born 5 .5. 1805 in Burgforde, Oldenburg. Her parents were Siefke Buhrs and Talke Lene Warns Buhrs.

Maria had a son, Johann Dietrich Schwengels 30.11.1824, but was not married to Johann Schwengels, the father of the child.

Cannot locate the death of Maria Buhrs. Perhaps she married again. She may have emigrated with her son on September 5, 1850, to St. Louis, Missouri or Washington County, Illinois, but I cannot locate any passenger lists that would tell who traveled with him. His emigration date
comes from his Reiss Pass and says he was going to St. Louis, Missouri. He was established in Washington County, Illinois by 1857.

I'm working since same months about a parish register for Eimke(that includet the localities Brambostel, Eimke, Ellerndorf, Dreilingen and Wichtenbeck), Lower Saxonay. So I found Marie Dorothee Buhr, born 14 Dezember 1848 in Ellerndorf. She married Johann Heinrich Kruse, born 10 Februar 1847 in Hanstedt I. (My father was born in Hanstedt too).
I'm interesset for the deathdates/place from the couple.
I can send you more dates from the couples and their ancesctries (The first Kruse from your Kruse I found in Hanstedt was born 1661). Don't worry but I can answer your .. in 2 month because i get a new hipjoint in the hospital on monday.

Hi there! Wow - these are definetly my relatives. Dorothea died Feb 19, 1928 in Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, USA and Johann Heinrich Kruse died in 1906, Enid, Garfield County, Oklahoma, U.S.A. They are both buried at the Zion Eb. Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Oklahoma. I would love any information that you can provide on these two. They had 5 children; Maria Dorothea Kruse Henke (1876 -1925) (My Great Grandmother) Elisa (Lizzie) Kruse Henke (1874-1915) George O. Kruse (1880-?) Frieda M. Kruse Hubbard (1884-1906) and William F. Kruse (1887). The family had and has a history of Huntington's disease. Johann Heinrich Kruse and his two eldest daughters died of Huntington's disease.
