I am searching for ancestor Johann Wertz (changed to Weerts) born Holtland, Niedersachsen on Feb. 4, 1840. Emigrated to US late 1860's as was in Illinois in 1870 when married my gr gr grandmother, Engeline DETMERS. Believe he had brother George (do not know German name) that emigrated couple of years before he did. Would appreciate any kind of help as my info is nil on this family group.
