I am also new at this, so I hope that I somehow can be of help to someone. I have a Friederike Dahlke (I don't have a birth or death date), but I know that she married a Johann Ewald Priedoahl on May 22, 1844 in Elsenau

I have some photocopied records that my aunt from Germany gave me. Unfortunately I don't read German well, and especially have problems with the old German script. I see here that on the marrage certificate she has put her first name as Caroline(a), Friederike. It also gives a birth date but I can't figure it out. It also lists Friedrich Dahlke as her father. I have a mother listed on the baptismal certificate, but it's in the old script so will need a translator. I have another marriage certificate but will need a translator for it. At least it is typed! I don't know if this is of any help but, I could also send a scanned copy if you think it would be of any help to you.
Good luck in your search!
Chris

I have seen this name but do not know if Friedricke Dahlke is part of our tree. The Dahlke name has been very hard to trace. My family unfortunately did not keep very good family records. I will try to associate it and keep your name on file in my e-mail saves if I do locate anything on those names. Thank you for your response.

Dear Caroline,
My relatives given names that I have record of are, Julia Albertine Dahlke, Ida Dahlke, Herman Carl Wilhelm Dahlke and Carl Dahlke. Carl married Johanna Fronselow somewhere around 1810-1830. Your Carl Dahlke could be related somehow just don't know. My G Grandmother was born in Rutzenhagen Pomerania Germany. Anyone from that area in your tree would be helpful around those dates. Thanks again. I do not have a fax machine however.
