I am searching for information about my great-great grandfather, John Freese, who was born somewhere in Mecklenberg about the year 1820. I have seen his last name spelled with many variants: Frees, Friese, Fries, Frase... I know that his wife's name was Louisa and that she was born in Mecklenberg as well. I do not know if they were married there or in Cleveland, Ohio.They had two sons, William L. and Martin C. Louisa Freese was listed as a widow in the 1902 Cleveland City Directory. She died in Cleveland, Ohio 16 August 1920. I have not found their final resting place. Their son, William Freese and his wife, Caroline Ehlert Freese, were buried in Lutheran Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.
