I am looking for German ancestors of Fritz (Fred) Reinke. He was born Jan. 20, 1847 in Mecklenburg Schwerinshen Germany. He was married to Maria Witt of Mecklenburg Germany (b. Sept. 4, 1856) on April 25, 1875 in ILL. They were the parents of 10 children: Henery, Emma, Minnie, Carrie, Louis, Alice, Lillie, Bessie, Paul and Raymond. I have information on all of these children, I am interested in knowing the "before Fritz" info.

Have, as you can see, same last name. This is my husband's side of the family. My husband's Grandfather was Frederick Reinke, born July 20, 1888. He had a Brother named Armin and he married an Erma Lick, later divorced. Have no information beyond my husband's Grandfather and am wondering if there is a connection. Fritz Reinke, as he was called, lived and died in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Please let me know if you have any connection.

Eduart Witt b. 1827 in Prussia m. Dorthea; ther son August Witt was born in Prussia in 1854, he at least one brother, John Witt. Both brothers married Hofmeister sisters. The two sons lived in the Spring Valley area of Wisconsin. Would this be any relation to your Witt family? Would like

Johann Carl Gottlieb REINKE(b. March 17, 1826 at bad Doberan, Mecklenburg, Germany), my great grandfather, immigrated to South Australia in 1850 aboard the barque "Sophie".

I am searching for GGrandma. I am not sure of the spelling of her maiden name. She was married to Henry Kraft and they lived in Milwaukee. She was called Minnie. Dad said all of his grandparents 'came over on the boat' and spoke German. They had a daughter, Mildred, and son, Erwin. There were other sons but I have no names since Erwin did not associate with them. Any chance this is the same Minnie?

Happened to catch your message because my Huebners are from Mecklenburg, but my Witts came from Prussia too. Do you know where in Prussia your Witts are from? It's such a common name, I don't get my hopes up on that one.

I saw your message and i cannot help you with yours, but thought you might be able to help me. My great-great-great grandmother was Friederika Witt. She was born in Prussia and married a Mencke. I don't know what his first name is. She was born in 1830, and died in 1914. Can anyone help me on his name?
