That makes food for thought. Unfortunately, the grave marker on my gg grandfathers burial place was in such poor condition after almost 150 years the last word on the line was what appeared to be Gellhausen. Given the poor condition of the stone and after searching for Gellhausen (with no luck) it appears it could be Geilhausen (the dot wearing down into the bottom of the letter i). A researcher identified them as coming from Fulda, I was wondering if either of the cities you speak of would have been in anyway connected to Fulda? I also thought Gelnhausen but the town was basically non-Catholic they were, as far as I can determine RC, possibly, marring into non-Cathloic before coming to the states and continuing that pattern when in Pennsylvania.
