My great-great grandmother Margarethe Mohl, born in Hesse, immigrated to the New York/New Jersey area in 1854/1855 at the age of 9 or 10 years old with her parents (father Louis). She married Henry Baillet in abt. 1961 in New York City. Henry may also have been from Hesse (he was german, with a french name. My family thought he might have been from Alsace-Lorriane). They had at least 4 children. Henry died in NYC in 1914. Margarethe (aka Margaret or Maggie) died in 1936 in Jersey City, NJ. She may have had relatives in Jersey City - there seem to be a number of Mohls in Jersey City and even a few Baillets.
