I have a photo of my g-grandparents which I believe is their wedding picture taken in 1869. She has on her wrist a hair bracelet and that bracelet has been passed down to me. It was supposedly made by her from her tresses and was a tradition of the period. She comes from Kurhessen but that is the closest I can come.
Can anyone tell me more of this tradition.
