My relative is Johann Adam Eckert, who was born in 1671 in Wiesbaden, Hessen-Nassau,Preussen,Ger. His father was Samuel Eckert and grandfather was Gerlach Eckert, both from Konigsberg, Ger. He married Elizabetha Geib in 1675. He was one of the Palatine immigrants that came to NY in 1710. They had 7 children. He later married Anne Rau and had 12 more children. I wondered if there were any relatives in Germany now or if anyone could tell me more about the Palatine immigrants. Contact me at ecraig@earthlink.net

My family came in 1710 and were with the the Palatines to America.


Conrad Eckert, my gggg grandfather. Conrad and brother Heinrich Eckert came to Philadelphia in 1731. b. abt 1710 in Germany d. bef 1762 PA Palatines imported in the ship Samuel, Hugh Peircy, from Rotterdam, last from Cowes - Col.Rec. III 410 (may refer to papers in Harrisburg, PA) He was called a "cooper" or "farmer" in the historical documents.

Conrad's children were: JOHN, Sr.(name on batism record Johannes), b. 4/1/1733 or 5/2/1734 d. 4/1/1811 (my ggg grandfather m.1763 Catharine Pfoutz b. 1740), Peter, Abraham, Catharine m. Peter Baker.

ABRAHAM Eckert is my gg grandfather b. 3/4, 1783 d. 8/16/1865 m. Catharine Spitler or Spittler b. 4/10/1784 d. 2/22/1865, children were:Egbert, Ezra, Matilda, and TITUS - my greatgrandfather.

TITUS Eckert b. 3/6/1829 d. 3/31901 m. Eliza Catharine Swormstedt (daughter of Dr. S. L. Swormstedt of Westminster, Maryland) they had six children: Cora May, Harry, Twins - Leroy and Summerfield, Margaret Augusta, EMERSON LOYD - my grandfather.

I also have Adam Eckert and Ann Rau in my tree that I am
helping a 4th cousin research her Eckert Tree.
But Adam could not have married Geib in 1675, he would only be 4 years old.
