I am researching the ancestry of a Rebecca (Sthair) Short, who was born in Indiana, USA. Her mother was Elizabeth Eckert. Biographies of Elizabeth Eckert's brother and her nephew, Sebastian and William Eckert, state that her parents were Peter and Eva (Pfeiffer) Eckert and that Peter died in Germany in March 1830 and that Eva came to the USA with her six children in May of that year (arriving in August). All of the children gave their place of birth as Darmstadt. Elizabeth was born in about 1819. I found an online marriage record for Johann Peter Eckart and Eva Elisabetha Pfeifer, who married January 7, 1816, in the Evangelische Kirche, Rimbach, Starkenburg, Darmstadt-Hessen (now Bergstrasse, Hesse). This seems very promising to me, but I have not found any other online records for this couple (births, children's births, or deaths). I am wondering if perhaps the Rimbach birth records for the appropriate years have not been put online at this time. Does anyone know how I could look at those records or otherwise get the information I would need to verify this?
