Hi Everyone,

I have a copy of the 1882 NYC Marriage Return for my GG Grandfather Johan Wilhelm Pfeffer. On it he states his place of birth as "Oberjorch, Kurhefsen, Germany". The writing is very clear. His date of birth is approx 1842.

I assume Kurhefsen is Kurhessen but can't find an Oberjorch in that region.

Any ideas?
