I think you are right! There was a Seiler family in Unterufhausen too: Konrad Neumann in Marbach wrote Nov. 27, 2000 that the maiden name of his grandmother was Seiler.

His email address in 2000 was Konrad.Neumann.Marbach@t-online.de

Today Unterufhausen has about 125 residents.

Hi,

My Pauks are Czech, from Jablonné v Podještědí in the Liberec district. There is a German branch of the family. My Pauks came to Cedar Rapids, Iowa (prime Czech territory). There are a lot of Czechs in Nebraska as well. Do you know the immigration date of your ggrandfather? Try the Castle Garden and Ellis Island search engines. Could you find his naturalization record? That would have birthplace information for you. Also, maybe there are German records that could help you (Hamburg lists, etc.) Also, if you know which church he attended, that could give you a clue to the region from which he came.

Good luck!

Surnames: Will, Belzer, Seiler
Hello,

I too am descended from Johann and Mary Seiler Belzer. My great-Grandmother was Kate Belzer. She married Henry Will.

I have hit the same wall as you.

Would be interested in hearing more about the German research you may have. I may some you need.

Regards,

Hunter

Surnames: Belzer, Seiler, Will
Hi Hunter,

That is exciting news! My mom (Lizzie Belzer's granddaughter) knew some of the Will family -- Kate's son Benjamin and his wife. He baptised her and her sister.

I haven't progressed much on the German connection. I did find Johann Belzer's death record in the records of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, but I didn't find Maria Seiler's. I have the catalog for the archives in Kassel, but I haven't written to request a search yet. Apparently the LDS hasn't filmed much material from this area.

Do you have Maria's death date or any leads from Germany? If you want, you can send me an email through my profile.

Thanks,

Liz
