I recently found my great-grandparents on ship records coming from Weiterode, Germany and arriving in Philadelphia, July 29, 1861.
It was listed as Peter Schweitzer and the line below was Anna Elizabeth Schultz. Schultz being her maiden name.
Not having done this before I would like to know since they were traveling together, were they married?, how would I find this out?, and where do I go from here to find their birth records, marriagge etc.
My researach so far has only been in the US and not sure how to go about this. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
