I am looking for information on the family of Carl Alfred Harche b. 1888 Germany, died 1930 of leukemia in Germany. Married Clementine Dorothee Clara Besser and had 3 children Kurt Ernest b. 1922 Hamburg (Nr3), Lizelotte b. 1920 and Christel b. 1929. After the war, Kurt married in England and emigrated to Canada where he died in 1961. Contact was lost with the family about 1965 when Dorothee probably died. Lizelotte's married surname may be Bartels and possibly had 2 children born about 1947-8 - Wolfgang and Helmut.

Any information appreciated.

The good thing is: In the year 1888 the civil records were already maintained by civil registration offices.

The bad thing is: Germany is so big: any idea where to search. A name of a town would be appreciated. Otherwise you cannot find your ancestor.

Sorry for the delay in reply but I was hoping to get more info from my mother/sister-in-law, but still waiting.

My husband says Grandmother Harche died about 1965 and the only reason they knew was that Christmas presents stopped arriving(including the much loved Advent calendar).

The last known address was in Hamburg.
