Have a WWI photo of Henry Hill, Owatonna, MN found in Edward john Degner's wife's album. I wonder is he was Geraldine's husband?

My name is Deidre Thiele Rhine and Augustus or Auguste or Gus Thiele is my Great Great Grandfather. Benjamin James Thiele was my Great Grandfather and Norman Thiele was my Grandfather. I have not been able to track down Augustus' Mother and Father. I have many census info on him and I have photos of him.

Did you ever find out anything about him. I'm willing to share what I have and any photos I get.

I don't have any information on August(us) Thiele, but can you tell me if there are many Thieles in the area? I do know that my ggrandfather, (Carl August) Rudolph Thiele, married Augusta Rauhut (sp?) in Muhlhausen on 26 November 1872. Rudolph was from Kalisz and Anna from Koznim, Posen, now parts of Poland and then Prussia. It seems that they were on their way to Hamburg to catch the Hammonia (a ship) to NYC. Google maps makes it look as if Waldeck is not too far from Mulhausen.

I'd be happy to look but I wasn't sure which area you meant. Waldeck, Germany? In the states, there are Thieles everywhere! Many are in Wisconsin and Alaska, but they can be found nearly everywhere. In Germany, there are many Thieles as well. Tricky part is the name went through many changes (Thiel/Theele/Thiele/Thile etc).

Sorry about that, yes, Waldeck Germany. My mother didn't think there were that many Thiele's (with the e). Boy, guess she was wrong, unless she was referring to only her people?

I found an A. Carl Thiele and his wife Augusta Thiele in 1900. They lived in South Dakota. His birthdate was Jul 1847. He immigrated 1888. Herman, Annie, Otto, Carl, and George were their children.

If you know his birthdate and their children this might confirm if indeed this couple is them. Augusta was born Dec 1851 (Carl's wife). Springdale, Roberts, South Dakota is where they all lived in 1900. The marriage date is 1872.

How strange! Some information so similar! Or maybe those names were just popular at the time. My notes show that they're not the same Rudolph. My Rudolph's dates are Jan 16, 1844-July 1, 1888. Augusta's dates May 8, 1854-May 6, 1894. Married Nov 26, 1872. Children were possibly another Rudolph, Charles, Olga or Olgar, Lillian or Lillie, and Flora or Florence or Flo. They lived in Newark, NJ. Immigration date Jan 4, 1873. I also have a Rudolph born Oct 24, 1877. I don't this is another child, because I know that Olga was born in 1877.
