I am looking for any information on Mau. My father was Jerome R. Mau born in Chicago IL in 1921. He has brothers and sisters that I do not know of. I believe his father and mother came over from Germany in the 1900s before he was born. I would like to know if there is any other info out there. Also I have half brothers and a sister that I have no contact with. I would like to but do not know of their whereabouts. They are Jerome R. Mau Jr., Philip, Richard and Cynthia Mau

I am curious as to your information. My Grandfather was Walter Mau, died in 1948(aprox.) my father was Richard Mau, born in 1938 in Chicago Illinois. My Grandfather had 2 illegitimate children, born somewhere between 1935 and 1948. His wife was Margaret Mau, his father was George Mau Sr. and he had a son George Mau. There were 3 brothers, unknown about any other siblings. All the brothers and the George worked for The Chicago Tribune as electricians.

I wish I had more information to give you but the only info I have is that my father, Jerome Mau was born in April 1921 and had one brother and two sisters. I don't know thier names but I know that my uncle's sons name was Bruce Mau and that my father and his brother had owned a brass screw company called Mau Co. in Illinois. I would really really like to know more info if anyone can help me. I don't know my half siblings, Jerome Mau Jr., Richard Mau, Philip Mau and Cynthia Mau and am eager to find them. I hope there is someone out there who can lead me to them.

Cynthia, I, too, am trying to find info on my father's father,
Frederick Gustav Mau. He and my grandmother, Mildred, separated about 3 years after they were married in March 1924. He was also born somewhere in the U S; his parents also came here from germany in the early 1900s. Also, you mentioned a Richard Mau--there's a Richard Mau living one street away from me in Carmichael, California! On Garfield Way. Please keep me posted if you find anything pertaining to Fred Mau-
b: Nov 1904 d:1987 in Seaside, Oregon
[We've always "known" his middle name to be Gustav, however the last time I asked my grandmother(she's 93!), she rattled off "August"].
My father is Fred Clinton Mau b:16 Feb 1925 in Weiser, ID
Perhaps our fathers are cousins? !

I've lost your e-mail address. I'm at Maulind2@aol.com. Uncle Jerry's parents were Rudolph F & Florence Anna (Mitchell) Mau. They were born in 1888 & married Jan 19 1910. Most of their lives were spent in the Chicago area with some years in Milwaukee. Want to know more? E-mail me.

Hello Cecilia. Jerome R. Mau is my grandfather, and Jerome R. Mau II is my father. I don't know if you are still looking for them, but I wanted to respond.

Hi Jan,

Yes, I am still searching. Did you live in Hawaii with your parents when you were a little girl with your older brother? If it is, then I am your aunt! Jerome R. Mau, Jr (JR as he was called by my dad) is my half brother. Please email me at cicijmau@yahoo.com. Take care.
