Hi all, the second one I may have an idea what it is, but this first one puzzles me. I have a thing called an OFB that are family books from Poland. They're written in German (there were a number of ethnic Germans living in Poland) and they follow a basic format. For example, the first line has date of birth and location, second line has baptism date and location, third line has death date, location and cause of death and then burial date and location.

Most causes of death are easy to understand, but this one is confusing:

Verhaltung der goldenen Ader

Could it mean jaundice? I cannot figure that one out. It's a head scratcher.

Secondly:

From what I gather, he was (this is the same man) a judge or constable of the village and he showed favor to his sons, who were basically narks and so the villagers disliked them all. Is that right?

One additional thing that puzzles me is "Schläger und Streitangeber". Is that a figure of speech or something, or were they truly armed?

Thank you so much to anyone who can help me. :)
