Thank you, Everyone.
I have only researched the Tanzos surname so far, but I know from previous research the original spelling is probably Tanczos. The illegible word at the end is a place named Palmerton, PA. It is a common place where Hungarian immigrants settled in Pennsylvania which is located a little north of Northampton, PA where Ida lived with my ggrandfather.
It is most likely Jozef and maybe Franz were born in Hungary, considering the dates listed and her marriage to her second husband, Alois Gros. My translation lead in the direction of "orphan" at the outset also, but it does not fit.
Yes, my relatives all seem to be from Vas, Punicz and Kleinmuerbisch, in particular. These villages used the same Szentmiklos RC church, but Ida's is in HC so none of my former research will help there.
Julia, thanks for taking some time to give me specifics. I will start with them and go on to search for Franz. I hope to take my first trip to a FamilyResearchCenter next week to order films that will have more info.
Thank you all. Stay tuned for Part 2.
