Hi I am trying to trace my dauven ancestors. My great grandfather was Rudolf Dauven born 1874 +- 1 year. not sure of his birth country, however he married my great grandmother in 1899 in Chelsea, London, and passed away in 1903 in Chelsea, London. The 1901 UK census states that he was a Russian Subject. All I know from the marriage certificate is his fathers name was also Rudolf Dauven and he was a Silk Weaver. Any pointers as to his origins would be very helpful. I am thinking Russian/Prussian but cannot find any records on ancestry.
