Yes, I placed my Pike Heritage on Ancestry.com hoping someone would have a connection. He is buried in the Old German Reformed Church cemetery in Greencastle, PA According to records availabled the church was first known as the "German Evangelical Reformed Society" later the name of "Zion" was added. The early records from that time have been lost, so knowing who made up the membership is not known, but from the existing markers in the graveyard you can gather the names of those who were born in the 18th century. As far as Stausburg, if you look for Samuel Pike b: 1811 in PA, the 1880 census it states that his father was born in what looks like Strasburg Germany. Samuel is my 3rd great grandfather and the son of Francis Pike. A cousin I have found through research said his Grandmother spoke German as did her parents. His connection is David Pike which is my Samuel's brother. I've been told by some researcher's that Pike probably was spelled Piech or Piek or some variation in German. If tried all the different variastions of the name I could find, and still found nothing. The odd thing is, my Great Grandfather Samuel Fisher Pike said his people were from County Cork, Ireland. I definetly cannot find a connection there. Is Hoppe a German name? Francis' mother was Mary Louise Hoppe Pike. It sounds Danish to me.
