My grandfather was a Nicholas Schmitz who lived in Chicago and died around 1937-1938. He worked for the Pennsylvania railroad and married a Katherine England. I believe she was from Alsace Lorraine. They had three children, Margaret, Marietta and Paul Mathias( my father). He was born in 1905 in Chicago. Do you have any additional info on Nicholas? I'm just starting my search.
