I am researching the Weetenkamp family of
Maryland. John H. Weetenkamp arrived in 1886. I have photos of his sisters (Bertha and Johanna) taken by a photographer in Bremerhaven Germany. It is possible the family came from
Oldenburg.
His sister Johanna's married name was
Kaiser and she lived in
Berlin during 1921.
The family was Catholic, Jesuit educated. It is believed his brother or other relative visited
Baltimore on the uBoot Deutchland in 1916. Unfortunately, the crew manifest is unavailable. I also know he traveled back and forth to Germany in the late 1890's and early 1900's. His first wife was Frances Duerbeck died in child birth (Married and died in 1893)and second wife was Adelle
Hatfield (Married 1895) of
Maryland. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.
