Can anyone tell me where to look for records of baptism, marriage, and death in the towns Pelitz, Geilenfelde and Wugarten? In Wugarten I am looking for the Martin Luther Church in 1882. thanks, Elle

Thank You
Would I look for family names under the old town names or the new Poland town names? I'm looking for birth-marriage- death records for the years 1700 to 1900.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Ellanor

Hi !

I checked the german and the polish names on LDS.It seems that there is nothing. My neighbour is a little bit younger than me.I´m 30 years. She is born in germany, but her parents are both from poland. I have talked to her. Tomorrow she will phone the town hall in Poland and ask for records.
I will contact you tomorrow.
Oh, we need names and dates.

Check the searchable database at http://www.genealogienetz.de/reg/BRG/neumark/index4.htm for your names.

All the places mentioned are in Friedeberg-in-Neumark county. Not much in church records survived World War II in that area. But this mailinglist Neumark-L is based on the assumption that people cannot help leaving other traces than those in the church books, and that mailinglist is extracting data from all possible and sometimes seemingly impossible sources ... would you expect a book about the history of mining being of any genealogical value ? See .... But look for yourself in the database.

When looking, keep on mind that your location are tiny hamlets and that therefore you should not blindfold yourself to the occurrance of your names at those locations only. Take into consideration all occurances in Friedeberg NM county, and as the counties in that area were small, do not neglect the occurances of any of your names in any other county of the Neumark area.

You probably might be interested to place your names and places into that database, too. If you don't know how to achieve that, drop me a line to bc185@scn.org and I will tell you how via email.

Good luck
