I am trying to find details of any brothers/sisters, or their descendants, of my Great-Grandfather Johann Gottfried Christoph NITZ, born Prenzlau (I think- not verified)
on 24 November 1836. Married Karoline Friederike Henriette KURZHALS at Neuruppin on 23 March 1862. Emigrated to Australia departing Hamburg on 15 October 1865 bu ship Cesar Godeffroy arriving at Brisbane, Australia, on 14 February 1866. Parents of Johann Gottfried Christoph NITZ believed to be Johann Gottfried NITZ and Johanne Friederike FRIEDLAND. Would welcome any assistance or information. Posted

I have a Johanna Charlotte FRIEDLAND, born 1815 in "Boesenbrau," Brandenburg. I suspect "Boesenbrau" might be Biesenbrow, in the modern-day Uckermark, in modern-day, northeastern Brandenburg.

Johanna married Martin EWALD in 1839 in Frauenhagen, which is a few kilometers southeast of Biesenbrow.

For your information, there also is a town, not too far from Frauenhagen and Biesenbrow, named FRIEDLAND (it's either in Brandenburg, or Pommerania). Our two family members might be tied somehow to the town of FRIEDLAND.

I don't have any of your other surnames in our database. Our Ewalds, Johanna and her husband, and several of their grown children, and their families, emigrated to New York in the US, probably in about 1873, and probably from Hamburg.
