My grandfather Zeriockus (Ziriak) Haas, born June 21, 1841 in Odesbach, Baden, Germany near the town of Oberkirch, died in Jackson,TN Oct. 15, 1910. His father Franz Anton Haas, born June 03, 1787 in Odesbach and died there Oct. 19, 1849. His wife Helene (Kaltenbronn) Haas born Dec. 25, 1808 and married Franz Anton Haas on May 18, 1840 in Odesbach. Sometime before 1863 my grandfather came to the USA, perhaps with his mother Helene K. Haas and his sister also Helene Haas and settled somewhere, perhaps St. Louis,MO??? He showed up in Memphis, TN in 1863 as the operater of a Shoe Shop on 22 Second St. and was a shoe and bootmaker. I'm trying to find the date that he came to America? I've traced most of these families back to the middle of the 1600's. Many thanks for any help!!!
