I am a descendent of Johann Jakob Wolfinger b. 1 Oct 1790 in Neuenbuerg, son of Margarethe Wagner Stengele and an unknown Herr Wolfinger. He came to the U.S. in May 1829 and initially settled in Pennsylvania, where he is thought to have married Maria Elisabetha Grossman b. 19 Oct 1807 in Hoefen enz Schwarzwaldkreis. Their first son, George, was born abt 1835 at Rising Sun, PA. I do not know if this was in Lehigh Co. or Philadelphia Co. In 1838 they purchased land in Posey Co., IN, and the rest of their children were born in Posey Co.
