Jerry, I honestly do not know which way the Humperts came into the country. I haven't done any research in Germany on them to get an idea. Some of the Catholic Germans they closely associated with came in the eastern ports. I know of some of the Lutherans that came in the port of New Orleans. I don't know if religion had a difference. I just don't know anything about that.

Have you checked any wills of the first Humperts to possibly see if they mention from whence they came? Jeanne
