Heidbreder-Kobusch how is this possible?

Friedrich Wilhelm Heidbreder and Hanne Luise Kobusch were married on 8 Apr 1844. Here is the conundrum. Using familysearch.org, I found two records in Germany, Marriages, 1558-1929 ("Deutschland, Heiraten 1558-1929," index).

The records agree about the names of the bride and groom, marriage date, Hanne's birth date, Hanne's father's name.

Differences Friedrich's day and month of birth and his parents names (considerably different).

The location is also different.
Evangelisch, Heepen, Westfalen, Prussia, Germany
Schildesche, Evangelisch, Wstfln, Prss

The records come from two different films.

So which should I conclude as the most accurate?

Your thoughts and opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Bob Grenier

I'm trying to research the family history of my ancestor who was born in Herford in 1795 (Johann Friedrich Meinert).
Bernard Mersmann was born about 1808-9 in Prussia. He arrived in St. Louis by 1842, where he married Maria Anna Goldstein May 17 1842 in a Catholic ceremony. According to the marriage record he is the son of Gerhard and Cath. Mersmann. His family is in the 1850-80 US Federal census for St. Louis. He was a blacksmith. He had at least 8 children; they were all christened in the Catholic church. He and his wife are buried in a Catholic cemetery. I am seeking any information on his German ancestors and immigration to the US. I have extensive data on the family in St. Louis to share.

This is as much as I have been able to find. I understand that the family were Catholic, but have not found any listings for them in the churches around Dusseldorf.
I need help with a location. I'm looking for civil records from Osberghausen, NRW, Germany. When I search for it on Family Search, it comes up with no records. Was this town called something else? Or would records for there be held somewhere else? On some maps it looks like it's near Engleskirchen, which is east of Koln. Thanks for any help.

Hi
Our Schutte changed to Schuette around 1874. Heinrich Schutte imm. 1867 Appl. for citizenship in Madison county Illinois and married Maria Elizabeth Gerdelman in 1872 Madison Il. Had 3 children in Il. Then 3 children baptised in Bridgeton Mo. between 1876 & 1884. Purchased a farm in 1883 in Bridgeton Mo. Family story tells 2 brothers imm. ( more ? ) one settled in Illinois and one in Missouri. I am searching for brothers, sisters, parents. His brother could have been George born abt. 1852. this George I found, married in 1876 and died in 1878 in Missouri.I'm hoping to find out where and who he lived with from 1872 till 1883. We know he lived in Bridgeton Missouri on his farm till death in 1911 at which time his children ( 9 ) took over the farm until 1965 when property was sold to commercial.

The earliest I found on my great grandfather, George (Georg) C.W. Schutte was in 1876 St. Louis, Missouri. U.S. Army enlistment stated he was born about 1852 in Westfalen, Germany was a farmer. I also found his discharge in Fort Sidney, Nebraska in 1881. Then found him again in the early 1900's in Indian Territory (Oklahoma). I have not been able to found out who his siblings were or his parents. Not sure if this Schutte could be related to your Schutte's in Missouri. On his US Census in the early 1900's he gave he immgrated from Germany in 1862 or 1863.

Have you checked the records of Bergkirchen, Westfalen? The Evangelical Church Records are available at familysearch.org. Put in Bergkirchen and check the box, then the surname and then the years you want to check. You may find something there.

Hi Jackie,

I did search the registers a bit and found a son Franz Wilhelm, born in Elberfeld on 13 Sept 1920 (birth register no. 1109/1920), died during WWII near Karl Marx, Russland on 1 Feb 1942 (Ehrenfeld, death register no. 547/1942.
The death record lists the right parents and says the fatehr died before Feb 1942 and the motehr was still alive, living in Senefelder Str 3 in Köln-Ehrenfeld.

That means Franz Rösgen (originally spelled Roesgen) died between 1920 and 1942. There are aphabetical registers from 1938 till 1944 which I checked for his wife. Then there is a gap from 1845-1947. I then searched for her death record from 1848 till 1953 - no Antonetta Roesgen née Kanters.

Before 1938 back to 1920 there were no alphabetical registers but you can check those years yourself.

http://historischesarchivkoeln.de/lav/index.php

"Personenstandsregister", >2nd from Top "Ehrenfeld"> "Sterbefälle">1920 looks at all the names in about the forth line of the text. With a bit of patience you will find Franz Roesgen's death record.

I'll be researching in the main archive in Brühl very soon. There are more records on their PC and I'll have a look for the marriage Roesgen-Kanters there.

If you want to look at their son's death record follow this thread:
"personenstandsregister" >"Standesamt Ehrenfeld" much further down this time >1942 Bd 2 open this and look at no. 547.

Gaby

Hi, Thanks so much for the reply. Unfortunately I don't have much information. Helene was born on 9th March 1902 in Ehrenfeld, Cologne. Agnes was the oldest and Billa and Mia were younger than Helene. I know that they Helene had at least 11 siblings, she had quite a few Brothers but many of them died. Unfortunately I don't know their names.

Once again many thanks
Jackie

Rosgen family from Cologne

Hi, I am doing some research for a good friend of mine and her family on her Mother's side come from Cologne in Germany. Her Great Grandfather was Franz Rosgen who lived in Cologne and he married Antionetta Katerina Kanters, born in Maastricht (may not be spelt correctly). They had many children one of which was Helene Rosgen who married an Englishman and moved to England approx. 1925. Some of the other children were Agnes, Billa and Mia. If this rings bells with anyone, or anyone can give advice where I can find more information I would be grateful as I have hit a brick wall! Thanks

Arthur is pictured in the Torque, yearbook of the 43-J training class of flight cadets at Pecos Army Air Field. He is a flight cadet in Squadron 10. I'm not kin but thought this might help someone researching the family.
