DUEREN's from Anstel, Germany

Surnames: DUEREN
Looking for clues to what happened to all the Dueren families that were from the Anstel/Sinstiden area of Germany. Did they immigrate to the U.S. ?
Were they originally from city Dueren in Germany?
What does the name Dueren mean?
Our Dueren's were catholic and attended the catholic church in Rommerskirchen. Many of the early Dueren kin were listed in the church records there. Looking for cousins in the U.S. or Germany.
Thanks, Marlene

I am descended from John Duran. Somehow the name was changed from "duren" to duran in Alabama.
This is new info for me. I hope you get this message and we can exchange info.
Thanks
