Borovica?

Surnames: Gruszecki
I have document from 1924 from Sarajevo where it is written "Borovica, Poland". My question is this: Is it possible that places near border with Poland were at that time considered to be in Poland?
It is my ancestor Wladyslaw Gruszecki who was born there in 1856, drafted to K.u.K. train unit in Bosnia. Document from 1924 is his wife's death certificate.
