The Name Neuhäuser was very common in the north east part of Czech. I do not have a Maria Theresia Neuhäuser in my ancestors list.
You can look into the parish books fo Ketten (Chotyne), these are online
http://matriky.soalitomerice.cz/matriky_lite/VysledekBean.ac...

or
http://matriky.soalitomerice.cz/matriky_lite/VysledekBean.ac...

hope you will find someone.
Best regards Ingo Pfeifer

Recently i've come across this name Neuhäuser from looking in the Czech archives.
Because the Old Script writhing is so hard to read, I am not 100% certain about the facts.
But I think my Grandfathers mother was a Neuhäuser (Maria Theresia) married Wenzel Motz. My grandfather grew up in Ketten (Chotyne) and later lived in Grottau (Hradek nad Nisou).
I'd love to know more.

Cheers

saw94@bigpond.net.au
Looking for info on great-grandfather George Trojcak and family

Here's the information that I have on my family. My great-grandparents, George Trojcak and wife Elizabeth Levi Trojcak immigrated with infant daughter Anna around 1890. The story from family members is that George was involved in the death of a police officer and that's the reason for the move to the states. I don't know the circumstances around the story.

They are listed in census information from Virden and Chicago Illinois in 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 which states that they came from Austria/Hungary/Czeckoslovakia.

George's info from family records:
George Trojcak (Jan 1863-Jul 1929) born in Austria/Hungary

His parents:
Steve Trojcak - born in Austria/Hungary
Anna Kostkas - born in Austria/Hungary

Elizabeth's info from family records:
Elizabeth Levi (Nov 1866-Dec 1931) born in Austria/Hungary

Her parents:
Andrew Levvi/Levi- born in Austria/Hungary
Anna Wolf - born in Austria/Hungary

George Trojcak and Elizabeth Levi Trojcak's children:
Ann R Trojcak (1890-1989) born in Czechoslovakia
My grandmother - Elizabeth Trojcak (1901-1987) born in Illinois
Mary Trojcak (1896-1970) born in Illinois
John Paul Trojcak (1898-1962) born in Illinois
Mike Trojcak (1899-1979) born in Illinois
Stephen Trojcak (1903-1973) born in Illinois
Agnes Trojcak (1906-) born in Illinois
Julia Trojcak (1908-1983) born in Illinois

I'd like to find information on where George and Elizabeth were born and possibly info about the reasons they came to the State. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kathleen Devlin Monks

Hello,

I am looking for any information regarding a Marek family that lived in Osek (Osseg) prior to and during the Second World War.

The family is as follows

Father: Wenzel Marek - a barber & train conductor
Mother: Wilhelmine Marek (maiden name unknown)
Son 1: Harry Marek b. 1918 - sometime after 1972 in France
Son 2: Waldemar b. 1921 - 1942
Daughter: Irmgard b. 1922 - present

There have been mentions that this family has connections to Dresden, but it is unclear if it is the mother's or father's family. Also, Wenzel's father Marek who was from the area of present Czech Rep. who died in 1914 and was married at the time to a young wife. (see attached)

If you know of this family or the names of the Lutheran churches in Osek, I would appreciate hearing from you. I am hoping to locate the grave of Waldemar in the local church cemetery, if he was indeed buried there.

Also, if the clothing that the couple are wearing can date the time period.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Rachel Greiner

Thanks Olly!!!!

I beleive that I can help you as we are in the
same branch of the family. Bill Richter from Quesnel was my grandmothers brother. Ella May Richter ( McAstocker)
Uncle Bill had 3 sons Glen, Bill and Eric. I know one of his sons had red hais as I met him as a child.

Uncle Bills (and my grandmother Ella) father was William Richter and he married Edith Dalrymple. Her nick name was Tootsie. William Richter died young when my grandmother was 10. Tootsie, them started a new family ( Montgonery). I believe she is buried in the Pioneer cemetary in Osoyoos. Most the Richter family is buried in Keremeos.

I have lots of information to share and I am interested in the typs of things you are interested in.

My Uncle, Jim McAstocker still lives in Quesnel and you may know him? His sister,Elizabeth Letourneau is my Mom.

My e-mail address is cindie@shaw.ca there is a small group of us in the family that have been researching the family for many years.

On June 26, 2010 we are having a huge family reunion near Keremeos BC and we want to ensure that all Richters are invited and welcome. Think about coming!!

Would you be willing to head up a sub-committee to gather your branch of the familys information? Names date of birth/death etc?

Would you be willilng to provide e-email address so we can send out the invitations?

Thank you cousin,

Cindie Barlow
Surrey BC
I only know the village and where it is now. Tylawa, Poland. I don't think it was always Poland. My Grandfather came to America to work prior to WWI and said he was "John" but I want to know his real name. I believe they were Lemkos. His wife, was killed by the Austrian-Hungarian army and the two daughters were sent to Germany until he discovered they were still alive and sent for them to come to America. He met my Grandmother here in the states although they were from adjoining villages. Her name was Skorodynski. She never claimed to be Polish but she was very unclear about where she was from. I would like to find that out and also to go further back. It is hard to find information on this name. There are not many here in the states besides my own immediate family. Thank you for any help and for answering my message.
Helene
