Again, thank you for an almost instant reply! Again, I was pretty certain that the spelling was for another surname, but because I'm still unfamiliar with the differences -- especially with the old scripts involved -- I just had to ask.

Because Ludmila and her family were Catholic, I assume that the Ptaceks were,as well. (None of the Chicago records, including the certificate from Bohemian National Cemetery, indicate religious affiliation.) I actually know virtually nothing about Frank, other than that he was married to the much-older Barbara, who was apparently previously married to a Vaclav Richter. I have no information as to the date, place, or circumstances of their wedding, other than that it must have occurred before they left in 1914, because the ship's manifest show them as a married couple. (My thought is that this was a marriage of convenience that provided Barbara both status and security to travel during the perilous time of war.) My interest in Frank is to determine if he or Barbara was the actual relative to Ludmila. Barbara was old enough to have been a sister to one of Ludmila's grandparents, but there is no evidence of her on either side. Also, she was presumably born and lived in Bohemia, rather than Moravia,
