Thank you very much for your help!! What a valuable research contact you are!!!

I learned from your links that the birthplace of Franz Joseph Ludwig listed Wenewitz in the Pennsylvania Moravian archives is probably Wanowitz, based on one of the links you sent me. At least that is the closest I can find. Another site said that Church records for my period in Selisia(18th century) are probably housed in Berlin (address given) and in some cases Poland, which would be on LDS film. A bit confusing there. I know Silesia was a melting pot of ethnic groups, but with a name like Franz Joseph Ludwig, I would say he was ethnically Austrian and not Polish or Czech. Do you agree?

I have never delved into German research and feel a bit in competent to know where to find those records, but your links helped alot. Too bad the Church records are not online- and in English!!!!!! It WAs nice to have recorded the town of this birth in Pennsylvani and the town Neisky, in which he joined the Moravians. Saves lots of trouble and gives hope when you know what you are doing.

;)

All best,

Neil
