Surnames: Riedel, Littler
I am looking for information on my grandmother. Her name was Olga Riedel and she immigrated from Austria around the late teens early 20's. I do know she has a brother that lives in Germany by the name of Walter Riedel. She married William Littler and lived in St. Paul, MN until her death in 1934 or 35. She had 6 children, Jean, Ruth, William Jr, Kenny, Virginia and Carol. They were put in the Odd Fellows home in Northfield, MN after her death by their father. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

in present Austria you find 343 entries for Riedel in phonebook www.herold.at > english-version > peoplepages > write in the name > refine at county (=austrian states), taking a state you can again refine at district.

Riedel is a usual name, so you need in any case a place to find out more, because the former austrian-hungarian empire was very big.
specially i also know the Riedel-name for "Sudeten-germans" in Bohemia, today Czech.Rep.

It's hard to say if any relation - my grandmother died in the U.S. around 1935. I know that there are relatives in Germany but unfortunately don't know who they are or how to contact them. Thanks for trying to help. I really appreciate it.

many of them came from Germany to Bohemia and so then were "austrians". but as it´s such a usual name - yes, not easy to find out where are from your Riedel.
