John Rushanan , Jr., 88, of Allentown, passed away on Tuesday at St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown. Born in Heckscherville, he was a son of the late John and Anna Biletz Rushanan . He was a graduate of Cass Township High School, and entered the Navy during World War Two. He served for three years in the European Theater, and participated in the Normandy Invasion at Omaha Beach. After the war, he became a barber and moved to Allentown in 1953, where he opened Johns Barber Stylist Shop at Seventh & Hamilton Streets. Before retiring in 1974, he became a favorite barber among Lehigh Valley businessmen and public officials. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Siena, Allentown. He was also a Fourth Degree Knight in Council 528 of the Knights of Columbus, Allentown, as well as the Knights of Lithuania. He also enjoyed golfing.He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anne Yonelunas, in 2003; two brothers, George Rushanan and Emil Rushanan ; three sisters, Mary Elko, Betty Ann Leiss and Irene Purcell.
Survivors: Four brothers, Charles of Duncott, Joseph of Bedford, OH, Michael of Odenton, MD, and Cyril of Llewellyn; a sister, Anna Donmoyer, Schuylkill Haven; many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Services: Relatives and friends may call at Dutcavich Funeral Home, Minersville, on Sunday from 6 p.m. and on Monday from 6 to 9:15 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Matthew the Evangelist R.C. Church, 139 Spruce Street, Minersville.

Charles Rushanan, 87, of Duncott, Cass Township, passed away Wednesday at Rest Haven nursing home, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in Heckscherville, he was a son of the late John and Anna Billets Rushanan.
He attended Cass Township High School and entered the Army during World War II. He served in the European Theater.
He was a freight conductor with the former Reading Railroad before retiring.
Charles was a life member of Duncott Hose Company and a member of Minersville American Legion.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Michael Rushanan, in infancy; three brothers, John Rushanan, George Rushanan and Emil Rushanan; and three sisters, Mary Elko, Betty Ann Leiss and Irene Purcell.
Surviving are five children, Kathy Fidler (David), Pine Grove, Michelle DeMarco, Branch Township, Charles Rushanan (Barbara), Lebanon, Sharon Beese (John), Pottsville, and Charlotte Verbilla, Allentown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Rushanan, Bedford, Ohio, Michael Rushanan, Odessa, Md., and Cyril Rushanan (Mary), Llewellyn; and a sister, Anna Donmoyer (Reese), Schuylkill Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday from Dutcavich Funeral Home, 200 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. Interment with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, East Hanover Township.
