Zoricic (Zoričić) is surname which is very common in a village next to mine, called Pakovo Selo, located in North Dalmatian hinterland, in Šibenik region, I saw few documents from Ellis Island with this surname where it is written "Pakovo, Italy" or even Austria, because Dalmatian coast was under Italy or Habsburgs rule for years..
"Novi" in those documents refers to Novi Vinodolski (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novi_Vinodolski)

Zorich or Zorick are probably english forms of surname Zorić or Žorić
