From the family history that I know, the Kulusich's resided in a tiny village very close the town of Split which would have been the market town that they went to to trade and buy supplies. Dubrovnik would have been considered the main municiple center (much as the county seat in
America). During the reign of the Hapsburg's, many of the births were listed via the county seat for their census numbers instead of the small villages. We got our information from birth certificates and family stories. We are still attempting to find my grandfather's name (Nicholas Kulusich) on the ship manifests. We can find his brother Matthew but not him even though we know his dates of passage. He left a brother (or two) and two sisters back in Croatia while his brother and two cousins came over. Some settled here in
Farrell and the other two cousins moved to
