One of the Gottschee region villages mentioned there is Meierle, with the Slovenian name of Mavle. There could easily be a place called Meierleberg (hills of Meierle) near Meierle. You need to get in touch with researchers who know the former Gottschee area or know southern Slovenia, and who could tell you whether this is the right track.

On a map of Slovenia of today, I did not find Mavle, but there is a Mavlen near Crnomelj, at the fringe of the Gottschee (Kocevje) region, but that would somehow fit as the names you are searching look Slovenian, and not ethnic German as the Gottschee area would have been.
