I have Matthias Labritz / Labricz born 2/24/1875 (son of Machias Labritz and Theresia Csicsek) in a town variously spelled Nadorfa or Nadalfalu or Nadarova, Hungary which I cannot locate.
He married Rosa Mary Pogatach / Poglitch / Bogacz born 3/2/1877 in Graz, Austria.
He arrived 1906 going to brother-in-law Karl Braun in New Britain, CT. Karl Braun was born in Ettendorf (Austria, near current Slovenian border) but came to US from Unterzemming / Alsoszölnök (Hungary on Austrian border).
Another brother-in-law was Alois Bredl born Eibiswald (Austria, near current Slovenian border). His wife Mary Poglitch (sister to Rosa Mary) was born in Wirl Ebiswal (sp?) and their children were born in Eibiswald and St. Katherine (all Austria near Slovenian border).
So I have a cluster of related people around Graz/Eibiwald/Ettendorf, and then the outlier Labritz.
Braun and Labritz somehow knew each other - possibly Braun met Labritz in Unterzemming and introduced Labritz to his family???
I am wondering if Nadorfa or Nadalfalu or Nadarova, Hungary could be Narda, Hungary - a little north of Unterzemming / Alsoszölnök, but still on the border. Or possibly Orfalu, Hungary which is very close to Alsoszölnök.
Or is there a candidate town in Austria or Slovenia? On the 1930 census his entry for mother tongue is crossed out and written over as "Unknown" - starts with "Sl____". His wife lists "German" as they both did on the 1920 census.
Does anyone have any ideas on Labritz's town?
