My father was born to Herta Tarmann in Vienna 1947... Herta born in Bichofshofen in 1924 to Adele Krendl. Here's what she has given me. Her father is Matthias and he was born in Czechoslovakia to Josef and Barbara Gurtler. Or what became Czeckoslovakia as in 1899 it wasnt'.

The story as told to me: During WW11 the Nazis accused the family of being Jewish and researched the family. The Nazis found that the line actually came from Spain before Czech. But I'm stuck at Mattias.
